    How to remove xl heat pump top
    There is a black plastic air deflector on Trane XL condensing units. How do you remove it to access the fan motor and compressor?

    Look under the top edge and you will see metal tabs near each corner. Pull the deflector edge away and up to disengage it from the tab.
