I have a levy placed on my bank account,
I have a levy placed on your bank account by an ex landlord, I was evicted by said landlord (papers said stay & pay or be evicted). I live on school money along with part time work (3days a week 11:02 hr,)in March my bank notified me of the levy after my school check deposited. I then stopped all my deposits but seemed to have missed one which was just deposited into my chase account 4/19/11. This check has not been cleared in the bank as yet, will I be able to call the bank early & have them stop it from clearing so I can call the school & have them resend the check in paper form? This is to add to my pay on Friday to pay April & May's rent. I don't want to be evicted again.

If he put a levy against your account... that means he has taken you to court and WON. Then he requested and got a writ of garnishment which legally allows him to take what he is owed from your account. SO just pay the judgement and put it behind you of he can hound you the rest of your life or until he gets tired of it.

I assume you are in the USA of course. The banks here don't let anyone touch anothers account without papers from the court giving them the right.
