Advice Needed - Foul odor throughout a Mobile home.
Hello, My name is Tommy. My family has lived in this trailer for years, and never experienced the foul odor that we do now.

    Here are the variables:

    - The Mobile home was vacant for around a year, and was then moved back into.

    - Before moving back in, My uncle and I did some work to repair some busted pipes and plumb the house for hot water, which it was without before.

    - For the first 6 months there was no odor at all.

    - The odor is noticeable throughout the entire structure.

    - The smell seems to intensify anytime that water is used.

    - The "Stink Pipe" Or "Vent Pipe" extends upward out of the roof and is capped by a cut off bottle.

    - The trailer had two bathrooms to begin with, but one was taken out when we first moved in, but we never experienced the smell until now.

.. . Today I crawled under the trailer to get an angle on what was happening. I had been advised that the stink pipe from the old bathroom might be causing the problem. When I looked at the plumbing for the one existing toilet it seemed that there was not a vent pipe for the old bathroom, or at least not one that was connecting it to the old bathroom that was removed.

In reading some of the questions posted by other users I found that the problem is most likely in a dried up pipe. Is my sense right? If it is, how should I go about fixing this problem, could it be anything more than this. Should I pour water down the pipe on the roof as other answers have suggested?

    Please advise.

    Thank you so much!!

When the old batroom was taken out, did you make sure to cap all the drains; toilet, sink and bath? Sounds like an open drain line. The main vent pipe shouldn't have a "cut off bottle", get a mobile home vent cap and install that.
