Diversion program eligibility british columbia canada?
Hey I'm a first time offender, no prior criminal record and I got caught shoplifting $77 worth of groceries in a superstore in Prince George, British Columbia. I got detained and finger printed and given a court date.

What are the chances I will get into a diversion program and not have anything to severe happen?
Since this crime can be taken as either a summary or indictable offense, what are the chances it will be a summary if I don't get put into the diversion program?

Should I get a legal aid to represent me? If I do, do I get legal aid for free if I'm a full time student with no income?
