    Can't you line up other accommodation for her and ask her nicely? Or are the circumstances so bad that this has be done by eviction practices?

    Where do you live ? Eviction rules vary from France, to US, to India and so on.

    Is she visiting for a few days, or has she moved in.
    Your wife ( since it is her mother) is she in agreement,

    ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

    If she is a tenant or resident, you evict the same way you would any tenant. The general process is a termination notice in writing. If they don't vacate by the deadline, then you go to court for an eviction order.

    One caveat here is that if your spouse is a part owner of your property she has to agree with removing her.
