Yes but you will most likely need to use an "S" trap and that may not be permitted by your local code. If this is an old house you may grandfather in.

You can, but, most likely, it won't be exactly what you want... ;)

Here, you could install an STRAP that goes into the floor, but this trap is illegal (although still sold), is unvented, and can siphon off and allow sewer gasses into your home, so not really recommended, OK?

You could also try to install a PTRAP (legal) with an AAV (illegal mechanical vent), and this setup works pretty good as the ptrap won't siphon, but you will see the ptrap and mechanical vent from the side of the pedestal sink.

Best solution, of course, is to open the wall and repipe new plumbing to include a new drain and vent, but that doesn't sound like an option you want to explore.
