    Flu-like symptoms
My wife has had flu-like symptoms for 2-3 days now. She woke up this morning coughing, and there was a little blood in her speutum. Should we be concerned?

    How much blood?
I have been sick before where I have a LITTLE bit of blood, like spotty, just bloody mucus. Doc said it was because when your sick, your nose can dry out and bleed sometimes, and you swallow 60% of what comes from your nose due to it draining down the back of your throat, and if your sick, coughing or throwing up it will come up.

However if it is she is THROWING UP BLOOD, or coughing up A LOT of blood each time she coughs that's a potential problem.

EITHER WAY, she should see a doctor.
