How to write a post divorce letter asking for compliance?
I am going to try to get my exhusband to comply with the divorce decree without taking him to court. I have been advised that the first step is to send him a certified letter requesting that he comply, so that if it does go to court, I will have evidence that I tried non-legal methods. Is there anywhere I can find a sample letter like this... hopefully free?

You write a very simple letter stating only the facts, nothing to argue about, nothing to be used against you, explaining that the Court Order requires him to do X (pay $X a month, whatever it is) and he is not following the Order.

I would not threaten. I would simply state the facts, that's all.

What State requires this? I have seen Attorneys in NY advise people NOT to send such a letter. Instead, go to Court and get the Order enforced.
