    He's 16 I'm 13 should we stay just friends?
Okay so I met this guy sometime last year when my friend liked him. Immediately me and him became friends . We would talk everyday and eventually my friend stopped liking him. But anyway we continued to talk everyday either on the internet or in person. He told me he even talked to me more than his best friend. Eventually I began to develop a humongous crush on him. Then the next year he went to high school and we stopped talking for a while. Then last month I realized how much I missed him and I decided to message him over Facebook. We made plans to hang out. Anyway when we hung out I noticed that I still really liked him. I love his humor his smile his smell everything about him. We walked together pretty close the whole time. I got the impression that he liked me judging by the way he acted with me. Then later on while we were hanging out my friend (who had also come with us) said something along the lines of oh you two are so cute you should go out. Then (lets just call him Joe) Joe gave her a look of surprise and said what? I'm turning 16 and she's turning 13! I'm way to old for her . She's really young. Anyway that surprised me. But what really confused me was when he had to go he gave me a really close and intimate hug :S and then when we were about to have a group hug with all 3 of us my friend moved out of the way and Joe said fine more for me and pulled me into another hug. Either way he thinks of me as a kid and that probably won't change until I'm 20 and he's 23. So I don't know what to do. Should I continue to fall in love with him until he feels the same way? Or should I try to lose my romantic feelings for him and just think of him as a best friend? And yes I know it sounds really dumb saying I'm falling in love with him but that's just how I feel he makes me happy and I care about him and what happens to him so much. So I know I must love him. But I don't think he loves me in a romantic way. Just as a friend. So should I just be his friend or should I try to get him to like me? Please help me ): <3

I think you know the answer don't you? He doesn't have the same feelings as you do, so what good would it do if you "kept falling in love with him", you should move on or this will just get even harder for you and you will feel really hurt. As for the friendship... I would keep that at arms length too, how else will you begin to lose these feelings if you stay so close to him? Maybe one day things will change, but you of course will need to be over 16 and even though the age gap will be the same, it won't seem too extreme once your at the legal age.

This helps a lot Thank you but the thing is I don't want to keep our friendship "at an arms length" because what if we all together lose touch ? Because he's also like a brother to me despite my romantic feelings for him (which I'm trying to get rid of)

What's meant to be will never pass you by! That's my favourite quote, its very true also, what I'm trying to say is, even if you do lose touch but your meant to be together or friends then your paths will cross again! And there's also Facebook LOL
