    An individual cannot file a police report on an auto accident. In order for a police report to be filed it has to be by the police who did an investigation at the accident scene.

    Please keep all of your information together in one post. Were the police called to the accident scene? The best thing you can do in a case like this is take pictures with your cell phone so the damage is recorded.

    It's going to be hard to sue somebody over it, I suspect.

    We are going to need more detail here:
    • What do you have to do with the accident: was your car damaged or did you damage someone else's car?
    • Was everyone insured? Has an insurance claim been filed?

    I wonder:
    • What does this have to do with corporate law (No big deal, but I'm curious.)?
    • Main question: what do you need a "filed" police report for? Does your insurance company want one for an accident claim?

    I'm a liability investigator. I've handled personal injury claims when there was absolutely no damage to the vehicle. The argument is that injury shows up later. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't.

    If you were in an accident and didn't bother to get out and/or exchange info (how are the people contacting each other), shame on you.

    Need to know the circumstances (as asked by AKLawyer).

    In my area you go to the Police Station and file an incident report. Were the Police at the scene?
