Selling a car from a private party?
If you are selling a car to a private party and your title has a lien holder listed on it do you need to obtain a clean title with just you, the seller's name on it for the new buyer.

Either that or meet the buyer at the lienholder's place of business and hand over the dough to pay off the loan. They release the lien and the buyer takes that paperwork to his DMV.
