    I'm trying to find this anime
    I've been trying to find this Anime for a long time. I think it was made by Manga Video in the early 90s or maybe even the 80s, I saw it when I was about 7. It's about a boy from a really run down town but above his town there is a city that he dreams of making it to. He tries to get to the city by climbing a pipe that leads from his town all the way up. When he tries to climb the pipe a ring of spikes comes down and cuts off his arms and legs. He is given artificial legs and eventually tries again and at the end of the movie he ends up dying because he can't get past the ring of spikes that come down the pipe.
