As an alien, do I keep my SSN when I leave the country ?
    Good morning,

I'm French, I've been in the US (NYC) in 2007-08 as a teacher with a J1 visa. I left the country in July 2008. In August 2011, I will come back (in California) to work again as a teacher with a J1 visa.
Do I need to apply again for a SSN or can I use the one I had in 2007-08 ?

    Thanks for your answer,

    François.
