92 Civic DX - ECM Intermittent failure?
    Hello again,

My car now has developed a crank, but no start condition. After some troubleshooting, I tried the K-test, and it seems that I have an ECM that is failing on this car. Only thing is that it doesn't always fail the test. When I first tested the for voltage on the MAP sensor's reference wire, it read 0.48V. Unfortunately the auto parts stores were already closed. I tested again before I ran out to the parts store the next day, but this time it read 5.02V. I tried to start the car, and it worked. I let it run for a few minutes to get warm before shutting it down. I shut the car off and waited 5 seconds and tried to start it again. Once again, the car would crank fine, but would not start. I performed the K-Test again, and this time got a reading of 0.23V. Now the ECM seems like it would be an item that would fail completely, but I've been wrong about these things before. Has anyone else run into an intermittently failing ECM on a 5th Gen Civic (1992-1995)?

As the inventor of the K-Test, your results were the same as I experienced on my 1993 Civic DX, when I developed the test. You definitely need a new ECM--it will never work reliably again. Here's how to easily replace it yourself:
