1099 -Misc, how to write off expenses in Schedule C
    Hi
I have a quick question about writing off expenses from 1099-Misc income.
I worked as an Intern in GA and got a 1099-Misc from my employer. I am an International graduate student ?(Indian) from Texas.
So can I write off my stay and travel expenses? On an average, how much can I write off from my 1099-Misc income. In my case, I have written off around $2000 expenses from my Income of $8000. This $2000 includes my rent and travel charges only.
Kindly guide me how to properly write off my expenses.

You can not deduct transportation and lodging on schedule C (Form 1040).
You can deduct travel, meals and lodging as itemized deduction on schedule A.
