How much should a paint job cost if I was just going to paint the car all one color. There is no rust or body damage. The current is in good shape but is a weird seafoam green.

It all depends on who you go to, I paint cars and I charge around 3-400 dollars but at maaco will charge about 8-900 for the same paint job so you just need to go to autobody shops and compare prices till you find the right one!

Don't know where you live but my brother is having his Corvette painted, back to its original color. It is now black but was silver, some body work done and completely painted for $800.00 at BOCES, it's a trade school here in New York State. They teach body shop people and they do real quality work. Its worth a try to look for a trade school in your area

Trade schools do take a few cars each year, ( around here often cars of people in the school or people they know) But often you have to leave the car there for a lot longer time than in a real body shop.

But the 3000 or so is about average around here also.
