This old black and white movie was aired today and was about a young boy who was suppose to become a blacksmith but was given the chance to go to London to study and become a gentleman by a broken hearted woman he had befriended while going to her house to play with the woman's daughter. The woman had her heart broken years earlier and had not seen the light of day since. She was very wealthy and had a daughter, who while very pretty, was very ugly to this boy who had come to give her company. The little boy was stricken by the beauty of the woman's daughter and as he grew older he and the girl finally reconnect--but she still is dertermined to toy with his emotions. I could not finish the movie and did not catch the title. I would love to watch the entire movie and see if this young man finally won the heart of the girl and would see the girls mother overcome her broken heart and bitter spirit. At the beginning of the movie an escapee in a cemetery is befriended by this little boy. I think somehow the man had a part in the old woman's past. The boy had given the man some food before he was recaptured.
