    22570r16 what do these mean on a tire?
    Can u put 4 new tires that are 22560r16 on a vehicle that has 22570r16 now?

    The three-digit number refers to the overall width of the tire in millimeters.
    The second number is the relationship between the tire height and width. In this example, the tire height is approximately 60% of the tire width.
    The letter “R” indicates a radial construction of the carcass plies.
    The last number indicates that this tire fits on a wheel with a 16-inch diameter.

    Will the 70 series tire fit on the rim? Yes. Will it fit under the wheelwell? Maybe not. It is a smaller diameter but wider tire and your speedometer will be off and your ABS may not function properly.

    ma0641, you got close with your copy on the top, but when you stated the 70 series is smaller, you're wrong. That is actually 10% TALLER! That "70 series" is the sidewall aspect ratio just the same as the "60" in the original question is 60% of the width. I think you just posted it backwards and acually meant to type 60 in that last sentence. The 60s daquailman wants to install won't be any wider, either.

    It is correct that even with a matched set of any tire size, changing up or down will effect many of your car's features. Not to mention the changes in handling.

    To answer the original post, you may want to find a tire shop and ask them to look at your vehicle and determine if those replacment tires will have much affect. We don't even know what you're mounting these onto.

    Must have been a brain f**t. I know that but somehow had dyslexia on 60/70 series. Remember when sone cars had 80 series?
