    My best friend
Well, I'm having some problems with my best friend and it's all just driving me up the walls. I'll explain from the beginning.

Me and (we'll call her M) became best friends at the end of grade 9 and through-out the summer. Before that we just talked a bit and hung out in drama class.
As the summer progressed we got even closer like sisters.
Grade 10 was the greatest, we had sleep overs pretty much every weekend and hung out when ever we could. She has another friend (we'll call her D) and she used to barely ever hang out with her cause she was with me. M became my other half and we shared a really great friendship, our motto was simple "If we go down we go down together" having her as my closest friend made up for all the loses in my life and my depression faded, I'd never been happier.

Sadly though grade 10 came to a close and we spent the summer apart, me in Ottawa and her in Halifax. I sat outside some nights on top of this apartment building (I could sneak onto the roof) and would watch the sky turn all pink and purple, the Gatineu hills were not far off either. Anyway we emailed each other but distance started to tear everything apart.
Ottawa was my home but I moved to Toronto to start grade 9, I left my dad and everyone behind accept for my mom and evil step-dad.

Anyway. Grade 11 started and all we do is fight. She claims she's said sorry but she never has. This winter we got in a fight and she logged off, I wanted to say I was sorry though. I had to work but instead I called in and explained I would be late.
Ditching a ride from my step-dad I walked almost 2 miles in freezing snowy weather and ended up at her house then told her I was sorry. I then left for work which was all the way back where I lived. I got in trouble from my mom for doing that though.

I've done everything to try and keep our friendship going but she has shown no effort in helping. She is now always with friend D who she blew off so many times last year for me. But now I have become D being blown off for another friend. I can't help but feel really hurt and depressed. M was all I seemed to care about, I have trouble making friends and people at my school hate me because someone started rumors about me earlier this year, I'm not a bad person though.

Please, I need some advice on how to handle this situation, perhaps make it better. I know things will most likely never be the same, but I want to try at least...

I can kind of relate.I have been friends with this girl for 8 years then she started hanging out with this other girl who turned her into a s.l.u.t. We were in fights off and on for a year or two, and we still have fights but we still hang out, but there is a gap in between us and we both know we aren't aas close as we used to be.The first time I noticed that I cried for my friend.Sometimes you got to know when to let go.I read a story about a girl and her best friend. The best friend was shy, and a new girl moved there and became popular and took her best friend and kind of left her as a third wheel. She finally realized it wasn't going to work out so she cut her loose.Sounds to me that you should probably let it go , because long distance friendships are hard to deal with especially if you fight a lot.

    Hope I helped.

I might have worded it wrong or left out a part. We live near each other and attend the same school though. But perhaps your right, maybe it's time I just let go.
As one once said "after the rain theres rainbows"

    Thanks for your help
