Okay so my adoptive parents knew that I didn't want to get adopted when I was like 9, but I had no choice but to get adopted so I got adopted with my older sister. Here. And than my older sister left when she graduated and there has been bad blood here ever since. I literally have to prove myself all the time. Like working for acceptance. But when I mess up the whole world crumbles. Well last night my adopt mom tells me that she hates me and washes her hands of me and wants me out. (in other words) So I go downstairs and call the one place I know I can stay but than she comes and takes my phone... and tells me to figure it out. So I do I run to a friends house that is like a block away and use her phone than come back to pack. Than my adopt mom comes downstairs and tells me that she called me in as a runaway. And I was like I was using a phone, you just told me to figure it out on my own.. Anyway the cops came.. and I want to just reverse the adoption.

Nope. You cannot reverse an adoption on those grounds. You can call CPS and ask to be placed in foster care, but you cannot reverse the adoption. Generally, the ONLY reasons you can reverse an adoption are because the way the adoption was done was not completely legal--like not having parental rights of biological parents severed first. Have you talked to a school counselor about your family situation? Has your family gone through any counseling together? |

Several other points you aren't considering. Who is going to pay the legal fees? Its expensive, very expensive, plus it takes time... you may be 18 before you got a rulling. And by then... it would have been a waste of money. Something that doesn't grow on trees. You will understand this well when you are on your own supporting yourself in the very near future. Synnen knows the process pretty well, better than many of us. Trust what she tells you as being accurate. |

The process of reversing and adoption is very long, very expensive, and probably not going to happen. It takes a LOT of evidence to prove that the reversal is relevant--and Smoothy is right about one thing the courts will consider: Who will be financially responsible for you? You have ONE YEAR left. That's not enough time to reverse an adoption, even if it COULD be--and I doubt it can be. Call CPS. Asked to be placed in foster care due to your issues with your parents. Don't expect the adoption to be overturned at all. |
