Washer machine backing up into shower
I just noticed that my washer machine is backing up into my upstairs shower. My washer is in the basement, I have an ejector pump which I assume gives it power to make it up and out to my septic system. I don't know if it is a septic issue or a clog issue. Please help!
    Thanks, Dawn

To check the septic system open up the clean out and cycle the washer. If it's the septic tank the clean out will fill up and run over. My bet's on a full septic tank. Good luck, Tom

Forgive me but I'm female and have no idea what a clean out is! If you could guide me, I can figure out most problems. Thank you for your quick response.

A clean out is a pipe with a cover on it so the sewer line can be snaked. You will find it in your basement. Track back from the ejector pit to where it connects to the sewer. You should run into a cleanout close to where the sewer exits the basement. Good luck, Tom
