    Washing machine
My washing machine won't stop filling until we unplug it. Is it a simple problem?

Don't know what type or how old the washer is but many models used a pressure diaphragm to shut off the water fill solenoid. Fairly easy DIY fix and not that expensive. Tell us more or Google your particular washer for other ideas.

    Washing Machine
I am asking a question about my grandmothers washing machine. She told me that it was filling. It would do nothing else after being filled. It is an Estac, Model CJ2351797, Serial #TAWD600E.

Need more information to really help but start by checking the lid switch. If its broken the washer will not move after filling.

How do you fix the lid switch? Or how would I know for sure if it is the lid switch?

If the lid switch is removed and jumped and it now works, the switch is bad.
Close the lid slowly and see if you can hear a click.

    Washing Machine
I have been asking questions about my grandmothers washing machine and had told you that it filled and would do nothing more. I did close the lid slowly to check if there was a click when the lid was closed and there was. I did start it and let it fill and noticed that the noise it makes after its filled is kind loud. It does drain but will not agitate.

    Washing machine
I sent you a message earlier about my grandmothers washing machine telling you that it fills and does nothing more. It does drain but will not agitate and also is making a slightly loud noise. It is an Estate-Model TAWB600E with Serial #CJ2351797. You had also told me in an earlier answer to close the lid slowly to see if we could hear a clicking noise to see if the lid switch was bad and there was a clicking noise.

Sounds like you have a direct drive machine and the motor coupler is bad. Tip it back and look between the motor and the transmission, you will find a piece attached to the motor, a like piece on the transmission and a rubber piece between them. It's pretty easy to tell if they are bad and they are supplied as a complete part. If that's it and you need advice replacing it get back to me with the model number from under the lid of the machine and I'll help you out.

Gloria, you have 5 separate threads going all at once on this single issue. Do not open a new thread each time you want to ask/say something. Go to the bottom of your last post and write in that box.

Won't stop filling, and won't do anything after filling are 2 different things.
If it won't stop filling unless unpluged, then the solenoid may be stuck open, a tech may with power off, remove wires from the solenoids and plug in, if it fills, the solenoid is stuck open.
If it does nothing after filling, is the timer advancing? Try advancing a little ti somulate the dimer to see if some of the functions work, could be just the timer?

If it doesn't stop filling there is a pressure switch that is supplied by a rubber hose that runs from the side of the drum to the water level switch. If this gets plugged the switch will not activate at the right time.make sure the line is clear and the housing that is attached to the side of the drum is clear also. Hope that helps. Have a nice day.
