    I had to file my taxes this year as dual status too. I was very confused. It was good that a friend recommended me taxback.com. All I had to do was to provide them with my information and they organized the proper form for my case – 1040 form. It was nice to receive my taxes back without any paperwork. So simple and easy

    If you are in fact a dual-status alien and the only form you filed is Form 1040, then you filed INCORRECTLY.

    A dual-status return (which, BTW, is NOT for amateurs) requires the submission of BOTH Forms 1040 AND 1040NR.

    Totally agree with ATE. You won't find any tax software/online do-it-yourself tax service that would create a dual status return for you.
