Hi everybody,
I am a F1 student in US since August 2010 and I did not have any income in 2010. So as per my knowledge I need to file only form IRS8843. Now following are my questions in filling the form.

1. I got an on campus job in Jan 2011 and got SSN in Feb 2011, should I write that in my form IRS8843 for year 2010?

2. There is Question in form IRS8843, "During 2010, did you apply for, or take other affirmative steps to apply for, lawful permanent resident status in the United States or have an application pending to change your status to that of a lawful permanent resident of the United States?".
Now my aunt stays in US and she filed petition for my mom before 8-10 years but there has been no change in the petition in 2010. Also I am over 21 years and probably ineligible as petition was filed for my mom not me and I am just her derivative.
So I think I should ans "NO" in above question but wanted to confirm.

Please help me out with this. If anyone knows for sure that what to do or even give me some contact info of US government office where I would get answers of both questions than it would be a great help.

Yes, you would use your SSN and would answer no to that question.
