    Why does my state select water heater turn off?
    I recently cleaned out my water heater, by, running out all the water, and then with the drain valve still open, turning on the incoming water to the water heater to flush out the gunk, and now, the pilot will turn on, but won't stay on when the pilot it released, any how to fix this?

    Sounds like you need a new thermocouple. This would be my first step.
