Need some help for some porch lighting!
Im installing some lights on a porch we just built and I want to use some old fluorescent lights that we had in the kitchen that we replaced. I also installed a weather proof receptacle box for some power out on the porch, and in the future I would like to run a circuit out to a workshop at the very back of the house (about 100ft away). So I ran 10-3 from the panel to a jbox and from there ran 12-2 to the receptacle, to the switch, to a fan, to the lights. So my question is: "How do i wire it up?". The sequence in which the things are installed is: panel (15 ampbreaker), jbox, light, fan (pull switch style), light/recep (seperate but in same area), light, switch. I wired it up how I thought it should be and the lights are VERY dim you can hardly tell they are on. Also I hooked up a voltmeter I had to the hot and neutral and was moving the dials and shorted out the fuse on the meter but one of the lights came completely on... so any help will help at this point.
