    Cerclage
I had 26 week preemie before they diagnosed me with cervical incompetence. I am 6 weeks pregnant now, will get The cerclage( The Transvaginal one) around 13 weeks , how successful is it? Is it painful. Please advice. Thanks.

I just recently had a patient with a cerclage who carried until 39 weeks. Is it painful? I wish I could answer that question as I only deliver babies.

From my experience it is rather successful.

My brothers wife's sister (thats a mouth full) is pregnant with twins, and went into preterm labor at 22 weeks. They put in a cerclage and she is still going strong at 25 weeks. The doctor hopes to get her to 30 before being forced to take the twins.

Even if it hurts, it won't hurt a LOT, and its worth it :) good luck honey!
