Registry problems that I do not know how to solve.
I am unable to use or delete most programs due to registry problems, this started after d/lg a free registry. I was able to finally uninstall the program, but the problems remain. I cannhot uninstall current paid registry program to reinstall because error message says I do not have access.
    Any help will be appreciated.
Keep it simple as I am old and not computer literate.
    Thank you.

Maybe I am out of place but if you're not computer literate why mess with the registry?

What were you trying to accomplish?

    Hello b:

Buy a utility that fixes registry errors. I like Ace Utilities. Pretty simple, huh?

Excon is correct. You can use a registry cleaner (CCleaner is what I use) but be careful as many "bad things" claim to be registry cleaners. Before using one let us know which one and we can determine whether it's legit or not.

I wasn't messing with the registry. I used a free registry cleaner (idvault) recommended by PC world magazine. And that is when the problems began, kept trying to sell me more software I didn't need and wouldn't let me uninstall but finally I was able to uninstall ID Guard did. Then got Uniblue registry cleaner to see if they could cleanit up but only made it worse.and that only made it worse. So now I can't get in or out of this mess. I can't access Uniblue plus many other programs as it won't let me access. I am leary about buying another registry cleaner as I am afraid that if I d/l it may not be able to make the corrections and, like Uniblue be locked by my inability to access once downloaded. The PC is really screwed up.
And yes, if I created this mess, it was because of PC illiteracy. I am an old goat that mostly gets and sends messages and surf the web.
So, please, no sarcasm, just help if possible.
    Thanks.

My answer was not sarcasm it was to get to know exactly what you are trying to accomplish. I have been around this site for a long time, there is no need for me to issue sarcasm.

I was simply trying to understand why and what?
