    Hello M:

Go to court and get a visitation order, and then ENFORCE it.

You take him to court, for a order of visitation. If he does not follow it, take him to court for visitation. And of course be ready to explain why you have not did anything in court for 6 years. And also document that he refused to allow you to visit

Is there a visitation order in effect? If so, what have you done to enforce it? If not, why haven't you gotten one? ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

If I were you I would also send care packages that have to be signed for so you can show that you have tried to make contact and want to know your kid.
I know this guy Wayne Patchett who pretended to want to meet his child and had nothing to show for it when the kid came knocking on their grandparents door asking what happened.
It will spare you the lies; trust me.

    Three points:
While sending the packages is not a bad idea, its too late now, if 6 years have gone by.

This is a law forum. This forum, like other technical forums, requires a higher standard of answers. Responses here need to deal with the legal question being asked and conform to established statutory law. Your response does neither. While we appreciate that you want to help, please make sure your responses meet the standards of this site.

Finally, you say "You know this guy..." Do you really or isn't this a case you are studying (as per your other question). Why didn't you say you know of a case rather than personalize it?

I will agree, I do know a case personally where the father sent all sorts of gifts, birthday, christmas and more. The mother would open them and change the tags and give them to the kids like they were from her.

He finally put a note in one of the pant pocket that the child got so the child finally found out about it.
