    Tax treaty and F1/OPT
    Hi everyone,

I'm filing my 2010 taxes. I graduated in May-2010 and my OPT started on May 31. I have been working full time since June. Since I am still under F-1 visa, do I qualify for the tax treaty with India? What is the deduction that I can get from this treaty?

    Thanks,
    Nik

Yes, you get a standard deduction of $5700 under the Article 21(2) of US-India Income Treaty.
