    LEEP and after effects?
 I'm scheduled to have LEEP done on Feb. 16th. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this, what it was like, and how long did it take to heal?? I've had the colposcopy done, and it was more nerve racking than anything. Some pain for a couple of days after, but nothing too bad. I'm just feeling a bit anxious about the whole procedure. I have a really good OB/GYN, but being that he is a man he can't really relate to how it feels. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I just had this done on 1/30, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The most nerve racking part was waiting for them to start the procedure. When they finally started, my doctor (also a man) gave me the shot to numb my cervix (this makes you feel strange, your heart starts to race and your head starts to feel fuzzy) I must have looked like I was about to pass out because he immediately had me cup my hands over my nose and mouth and start breathing in (to keep from hyperventillating). Then it was done in less than 5 minutes. I didn't hurt very much at all, it burned just a little bit all day, but my Dr. also gave me a prescription to Tylenol with codine. I went home and rested in bed all day. I actually felt good the next day, no pain at all. Make sure you wear a pantyliner, I still have to wear one because there is a lot of discharge (like black charcoal looking stuff). I actually started bleeding (not heavily) this past Wednesday and it freaked me out. The Dr. said to rest and if it didn't quit in a few hours to go back and see him and he would put medicine on my cervix again to stop it, but it stopped on its own. The bleeding has come back a little today (Friday) but I have been resting again. I will see how it goes, then decide if I need to call the Dr. again. I hope this helps you.

Thank you sooo much! I have been really nervous about it. Just not know how bad it really is I guess. I'm glad to hear you are doing well. Again, thanks for informing me of your experience with it. I'm glad it only takes about 5 minutes too!
