I have a ladies group that meets monthly. We choose to invite new friends to join us. We now have a woman that has invited herself, and there are 2 members that feel strongly about her not joining us. What can we do?

Make it clear that the group is invite only, once a new member has been proposed by other members of the group.

I don't like excluding people but understand if you have a great thing going, you don't want to have someone ruin it, nor to hurt their feelings.

I agree someone in the group should advise her of some policy (even if you have to make one up to cover the situation!) that the group is limited to x number of people, and that when an opening comes up, the club extends a formal invitation to a potential member. You an explain that you'd love to have her join you periodically as a guest, then perhaps once a year invite her.

Thank you both for your input. I used it, it worked out, problem solved! Thanks again.
