    The left.

    It goes on the same finger that the wedding band will eventually go on.

    Do you want to know a little history as to why the ring is placed on that finger?

    Well, that finger, and only on the left hand, has a vein that goes directly to the heart.

    The right hand ring finger doesn't have it. Only the left.

    At least that's the story I've heard. :)
