    Air in hot pipes
    Need to know how to get air out of hot water system it is not blocked after bleeding it last for about three days and then returns it a UK calorifier systerm with just three taps and a feed for a shower
    As anyone got any ideas how to help

    Air is getting in somewhere, such as on top of the boiler, look for a small brass cylinder with a knob on top. Or a tiny drip or misting leak from just about anywhere, but usually either a bleed knob or the nut around the valve stem.

    Hi when you sugest on top of the boiler The boiler only connection that I can see with the calorifier is a internal heat exchanger within the tank itself there are two bleed valves in the loft space I will chq we use a combi boiler hope you don't think it the heating will let you know

    Joypulv: are you saying that air is getting in though a hole in water heater ? I disagree. Water Heater maintains pressure at least 35psi and higher while outside pressure is about 1psi.

    To get air out of your pipes, open hot water faucet in most distant bathroom from the water heater and let it run for few minutes. That should do

    No, not the water heater.
    I have two bleed valves on the lines coming out of my boiler that I adjusted after I was constantly bleeding rads and that solved the problem; no more air.

    I have done that a few times but it still stops flowing after three /four days which would indicate that there is air getting in the system have tried today putting cold water pressure through to remove any stubborn air block ,does seem a bit heavier flow time will tell can't find any sign of leaking don't know if there is a standard pressure ? ANY THING ELSE I COULD TRY cheeers tonygps
