Do we have to get marry in a courthouse,even if he not from the u.s

Getting married in a courthouse is an option you have, but it's not the only one. I don't understand why you think you have to get married in a courthouse, or what it has to do with him not being from the US.

If he has permission to marry a US citizen, and permission to stay in the US, then you can get married in a church, the courhouse, in your backyard, whatever you want, as long as you have the legal documents and someone that can officiate.

What if he need to be legal to be in the US

Do we have to get marry in the courthouse in order for him to be a citizen.of the u.s and what if we I know someone who will marry us for free...

Getting married doesn't make you a citizen.
Please start at the beginning - where is he from, is he here in the US, and is he here illegally, or what is his status if not?

Yes he in the u.s working but in order for him to be a resident in the u.s he have to get marry.so do we have to go to the courthouse to get marry.and what if I know someone who will marry us for free...

As you have been told several times in this thread, no, what building you get married in doesn't matter. Why do you keep asking that? If the person who wll marry you (for free or not) is qualified to perform marriages, and if you have a marriage license, that's all that is required to get married.

But, wherever the marriage occurs, getting married doesn't automatically give him legal residence status.

Why wouldn't he be legal residence in the u.s if we got marry by someone who will do it for free... he have a I94 TO LIVE HERE

Erika, may I ask how old you are and who told you he would become a us citizen if he married you?

If you are a legal US citizen and both of you meet the requirements for getting married in your state, then it doesn't matter where or who (as long as they meet the requirements for officiating a marriage in your state) performs the ceremony, he will still have to go through a very long and costly immigration process.

He might even have to return to his homeland if his current visa runs out. Are you sure he has a visa to work in the US? The only I94 form I have found so far is an arrival and departure form.

Most visitors to the United States need to apply for a visa before entering the U.S. unless if the person is a citizen of one of the 27 visa waiver countries and has a machine-readable passport.
