    Confused on filing
    I made $4200 and $4300 on uei benefits and ssi/dis. Benefits with a minor and an adult dependent plus myself how would i file taxes and would i earn eic

    You can file a 1040EZ, the easiest form.
    The SSI is way under even the single person taxable limit of 25,000 so isn't entered.
    The unemployment is income and must be entered.
    You get no Earned Income Credit for either type of income. You must actually have worked.
    Your dependent can't file returns if you claim them.
    Don't forget to file a state form even if you don't owe any tax to either fed or state.

    I am fairly certain he wants to claim the minor as a dependent for the possible Child Tax Credit. If so, he MUST file Form 1040A.
