Can you get an mip in Michigan if you get your stomach pumped?
I am 17 years old and live in Michigan. I was sent to the hospital in an ambulance where I then got my stomach pumped. The officer did not breathalize me at the site of the incident and did not give me the mip until after I had been to the hospital. Is this legal? What can I do to get out of this?

    Hello t:

You were drunk. You are a minor. Of course, they can charge you. They have a YEAR to charge you. Sure you want to get out of it. Hire a lawyer.

They do not have to do anything at the scene. Most police do not have machines to do breath tests at the scene.

And many departments will require a blood test at the hospital.

But this appears to be either from an accident, and having you tested at the hospital is normal, common and acceptable at court.

You can hire a good attorney to work out a plea deal. You can start AA to get over your drinking problems
