    . Install Motorcraft Platinum Spark Plugs, if they have not been changed in 40,000 miles. Use the exact plugs that originally came in the car. Gap plugs to spec. Change plugs when the engine is "stone" cold.

    AutoZone sells a replacement coil for around $78--easy job to do yourself. I normally recommend replacing coils every 120,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first.
