    Inequalities - Graphical display
Kindly let me know how to draw inequality graphs especially how to find the co-ordinated in detail. Y > or equal to x/2, y< or equal to 2x and x+y < or equal to 8.

First, draw the graph of y = x/2.

Then choose a point not on the line. Say... (1, 1). This point is above the line. Does it satisfy the inequality? If yes, then you shade every area above the line.

Same thing here, first draw the graph for y = 2x.

Choose a point not on the line. (0, 5) is a point above the line. Put that in the inequality. Does it satisfy it? No, hence, shade all the area below the line.

For this one, rearrange first in the form y = mx + c then draw the line. Then do what I told you, and tell us what you get! :)

    Dear Unknown,

I am not very good with graphs and would like to know how to decide the points that would satisfy the inequality. A detailed reply would be highly appreciated.

Well, one simple trick is to look at the inequality sign. If the sign is greater/greater than or equal to, then the points which satisfy the inequality will lie above the line of the graph.

If the sign is less/less than or equal to, the points that satisfy the inequality will lie below the line of the graph.
