Hi, I moved to the UK in September 2010. I had US income last year, but my spouse had no income for the whole year. Married filing joint seems to give me the best tax break in my case, but can I file this way and how? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What about the non-US citizen married to a US citizen both living in Europe and not earning income in the US? Does the non-US citizen need to file for US taxes when he has no US income nor is a US citizen? Would the US citizen spouse should just file in married filing separately?
