    There is really no "free" money to buy homes, some areas if they are seriously depressed may have local grants that help some ( but not all) with a down payment. In other areas there may be lowered taxes for purchases in some areas for a number of years.

    But there is no grant just to buy a home. Esp pay for an entire home.

    If you have good credit, with ( in the US) home prices are so low currently you should be able to find one.
