    Sounds like it's been wired up incorrectly.
    The data and voice cables should be different pairs and not interfere with each other.

    Of course more information would be helpful to resolve your issue.

    Devoil - please clarify: are you using DSL service? If so - have the correct filters been installed for all telephone sets?
