Is it safe to live in a building while asbestos removal is being done?
My HUD privately owned apartment building is being rehabbed. Lots of asbestos removal is being done, especially "popcorn" asbestos ceilings. Empty apartments next to me have been done with exhaust blowers on a full 7 days. Now I find out that my belongings will stay in my apartment (covered) while this is being done and I will be out of my unit for 3 days. That doesn't seem sufficient to me. Also, all workers are using the same elevators tenants use, so if they're showering after doing the removal, they're getting to them using the same elevators. (This is a 27 floor building.) I'm worried.

Where do you live? Have they installed air chambers for entry and exit to each unit? Contact your state EPA to see if they have the proper permits and are licensed and bonded
