If I lived and worked in AK for 110 days, will Oregon tax me on that earned income
I retired in 2009 and moved from Alaska to Oregon in September. I was asked to return and help out at my old job in AK, and lived and worked in AK for 110 days in 2010. We already pay high taxes on our AK pensions to the state of Oregon. Do I have to pay income tax to Oregon on the wages I earned in Alaska. We did not have any earned income in Oregon in 2010.

The only way to avoid paying OR taxes is if you were to claim that for those 110 days you actually moved out of OR and took up residence in AK. But given that you did this for only 110 days, I think you would have a hard time convincing the OR tax authorities that your residence was no longer in OR. It has to do with your intent of where your permanent abode is. Having said that - if you want to claim that you moved to AK in October you would file a part-year OR resident return for January - October, and pay taxes to OR only on the income you had during those 10 months. To make this stick you should make it as clear as possible that you are a AK resident - get a AK driver's license, register to vote there, and use your AK address for all tax filings and financial transactions.
