Will birth control and prenatal vitamin combination effect my menstrual cycle?
Hi, I am a 25 year old and have recently started taking PreNatal vitamins to apese my physician. I have low blood iron levels and being anemic has drastically impacted my life. I'm always fatigued and looking pale. My Dr. wanted me to take injections and I suggested we start small like with an oral vitamin... I am now taking a prenatal Vitamin and am also currently on Birth Control. My period is 4 days early... I have been feeling a little off for a few days and decided to take a pregnancy test... 3 tests later I am still negative but its strange how my period which has been so regular on this same birth control regime has now been altered so drastically. Is it possible that these pills prepping my body for a baby could have forced such an early period? I am a nurse and I feel like I'm over analyzing and being crazy but I can't find a straight answer and am now totally confused.
    Please advise
    Thanks

    Four days early is nothing.
Feeling a little off can be the iron, which I'm so sensitive to I can't take or I vomit.
You just started BC? That will often change your period and how you feel, for a while.
Of course you might be pregnant, and it's too soon for the test.
I'd have taken the doctor up on the injections.

Well, I have been on this same Birth Control regime for quite some time now and as I stated in my previous post it has been very regular and exact for the last 5 years I would say. As for the shots I'm really not interested in getting weekly injections of something that I can easily take in pill form. My body is not that sensitive to the Iron, I was taking Feosol for a while but it was really doing a number on my stomach and I was getting very constipated. I took another test and it was negative, I was really just concerned about the reason why my period would be early... and SO early at that... 4 days for someone who has been so regular is something that might concern some people. Any one else's thoughts on the topic?
