    Inground pool light.
    "Where can I find a reasonable place to install an inground pool light. The pool is old(1989) and I was told by Leslie's pool supplies the light is no longer made and would need to be replace. The price quoted was $550. The light works but it leaks. Can you give me any suggestions. Thanks."

    Have you had a professional look at it to see if the existing light can be fixed. If it had a O-ring seal then over time it can deteriorate and caus a leak to occur. Have you found out where/how the leak is happening?

    Yes, Leslie's is a pool repair and chemicals place. The O-ring had totally disintergrated. They told me it was no longer being made due to age and the entire light needed to be replaced. I have no experience in these things and am not sure what to do next. The pool was leaking so much I let it drain more than half way down just to stop the leaking. Now I am not sure where to find someone trust worthy. There doesn't seem to be anything in the yellow pages. I am in Tampa, Florida. Any help? Thanks

    You might try an industrial outfit to match the o-ring if you have any pattern to go by. Or find out if there is any heavy duty sealer that may take its place. You could get lucky.

    Is the conduit to the light leaking? If so, I have had luck with some butyl tape placed in the opening at the light niche.

    I have never run into a pool light I could not get a new gasket for. The fixture may be obsolete, but they make the gaskets for many years.

    It sounds like you may have a leak in the light conduit or you would not be losing water. This is a whole different issue. Any reliable pool service and repair company should be able to help you with both these problems.

    Looking for a back security rim for a Purex 100-5 inground underwater , incandesant, swimming pool light. The fixture has a 425 forming shell. The pool is concrete. This fixture may have been replaced with a Hayward sealed beamm series light SPO504.. It looks very similar to An Anthony Light ,with the back security rim(6 screw holes )going over the rear of the light fixture and attatching to the faceplate. I was told it was replaced with a Pentair astrolite, but the schematics and clamp looks different. Can any one help me? --J

I have read several articles on replacing an under water light but none said anything about having to lower water level to do this. Please respond.

After cement patch, can I paint inground pool walls and not use a pool liner [ 1 Answers ]

Existing pool liner has come off (bought home with pool as is) cement patches needed. I want to just paint the cement and fill the pool. Is that doable, or do I need the pool liner.
