Parixit:
You ARE liable for both federal and Maryland state income tax on your salary.
Exactly HOW much tax is due depends on your end-of-year accrued salary due to the progressive nature of income taxes in the United States. Since you did not provide us with your accrued income, we cannot tell you what your tax liability will be.

HI thanks for the reply.
The salary is $4800.00 a month so it will be 57,000 (without deducting any tax ) per year . Please let me know if you need any further information. I live in Maryland so so tax of marryland will be applicable on me. And Please provide some information about tax return as well.

Your IRS tax liability is $8,106.
The state liability requires access to my Maryland state tax software, access I do not have at this point in time.

IRS is the Internal Revenue Service, the federal agency in charge of collecting federal income taxes.
Hence, IRS tax liability was the amount of federal taxes calculated on your taxable income.
Since you did not provide me how much federal income tax was withheld from your pay, this was the only figure I could deliver.

My F-1 visa expired on September 2010 and I am start working UNDER OPT from November 2010 until now (February 2011). I noticed that I must tell the employer that I am under the F-1 status so then I do not need to get the social security and medicare taxes. But they say that I am not eligible because my F-1 VISA expired so then up until now those 2 taxes has been deducted from my payroll.
Can you please confirm what is the right thing for this? Can I still got the refund from my employer without claiming the form to IRS? If yes, what would be the valid argument? Thank you.

Sampah;
I answered your question via email.
You arrived in country in 2005, so 2010 was your SIXTH year in the U.S. under the F-1 visa.
That being the case, you ARE liable for FICA (Social Security and Medicare) taxes.
