    Honda accord 2005 radio problems?
I drive a 2005 honda accord, my radio unit goes completely dead. When I pull out the fuse and put it back the radio comes up again. After a while it goes dead again. Any sugestions to solve this problem?

. Take a pair of pliers and slightly twist the fuse tangs (5 degrees). This may allow them to make better contact in the fuse box. No guarantee but sometimes this solves the problem. Clean the fuse with abrasive cloth.

. Test all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Check all electrical connections to the radio.

. Check the ignition switch for wear or pitting, if the problem persists.

I'm having the same issue. I've been replacing the fuse & my radio works for 1 day to 2 weeks before needing to replace it again. Fuse does not show it has been blown but re-inserting the fuse does not work. You have to replace with a new fuse each time.

Has anyone fixed this problem? If so, how?

So far, dealership charged me $90 to say I can't find the problem and I need to drop if off to pull the dash apart costing another $200 to $400. Eeeekkkkkk!

    Thanks!

Try slightly twisting the tangs going on the fuse with a pair of pliers; i.e. so they go like this:

Afterwards, spray the tangs on the fuse with WD-40. If the problem persists, check the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting. The ignition switch/harness provides power to the under dash fuse box. Ensure the connections are good. Be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable, prior to checking the ignition switch.
