Can I back out of a life estate put on my mortgage?
I purchased my current home from my mother 6 years ago. My older brother put in the contract that as long as my mother is alive there will be a life estate put in the contract. She has been living in the house, mortgage, utility free. I now find it difficult to make payments on my mortgage as I had to retire from my job of 28 years, due to the economy and need to know what steps and rights I have to either selling the house or is there an option that I can have the mortgage and rights back to my mother and brother? My brother has been giving me a hard time about my finances and it ultimately by him hounding me about this whole matter, it has caused my health to go down hill. I am very sick and have been put on medications, as I have also stated to my brother and still he worries about the well being of our mother. Please help me out. Thank you kindly.

No because my brother told her not to ever sign off on anything unless he okays it and he will never okay this. Please tell me there may be a loop hole as the cost of living is way too much for me to handle on my own, without ruining my credit.

There may be a loophole. Maybe not. An attorney in your jurisdiction would have to look at all the paperwork to be able to tell.
