Non resident alien on J-1 visa with tax treaty
Hi, I am a non resident alien having a non resident alien wife. Our child is US citizen. I am filing 1040 NR tax form to avail the tax treaty benefits (India). All my income is exempt. Can I get a child tax credit for my US citizen child.

I have J-1 visa (I am a research associate at a university). I came to USA in March 2009. And I am now filing for 2010. My son was born in 2010. For 2009 year I filed a 1040NREZ and took tax treaty benefits (India). The treaty benefits are for only 2 years. Thanks
